Genius Weft Extensions at Monaco:
3 Ways to Attach
At Monaco Salon, we specialize in Genius Wefts, which are applied using one of several different beaded row methods. These are all gentle, glue-free, heat-free techniques that give you a comfortable fit with durable attachments. And thanks to the beads, you get that beautiful, 360 degree movement.
Most women don't realize there’s more than one way to attach a beaded row. We offer three distinct methods, and the right choice depends on your hair type, lifestyle, and how often you visit the salon.
1. Invisible Beaded Row
Our most popular method - beads are sandwiched between two wefts—top and bottom—to fully conceal them, resulting in a sleek, camouflaged installation.
2. Classic Beaded Row
Beads and thread create a track (“a beaded row”) then wefts of hair are pulled through each bead. The beads are closed, then using thread, each bead is reinforced with a few stitches. The attachments are discreet but may be visible when hair is pulled up.
3. Express Beaded Row
A simplified take on the classic method, the express method takes less time in the chair but requires maintenance at more frequent intervals, every 6–8 weeks instead of 8–12. The attachments are discreet but may be visible when hair is pulled up.
Let's Get Into Details
Invisible Beaded Row
For a flawless, “can’t see it, can’t feel it” finish.
The invisible beaded row method sandwiches your beads between two wefts—one above, one below—making each attachment completely hidden. This is a game-changer if you love to wear your hair up in a ponytail, messy bun, or top knot, because there’s nothing to camouflage.
Best for: Clients who want maximum discretion in every hairstyle.
Why you’ll love it: Ultra-natural look from every angle, comfortable to wear, and blends seamlessly.
Considerations: More labor-intensive than other methods, so it’s a premium service. Maintenance is typically every 8–10 weeks depending on hair growth.
Bottom line: Invisible Beaded Row is perfect for clients who often style hair up or prioritize a seamless look—even from every angle—making it worth the premium.
Classic or Natural Beaded Row
The trusted, tried-and-true method.
In the classic beaded row technique, small silicone-lined beads are placed along a row of your natural hair to create a secure “track.” Your wefts are sewn to this track, and the bead color is customized to match your root shade for a discreet finish.
Best for: Most hair types, especially medium to thick hair.
Why you’ll love it: Long wear time between appointments, lightweight, and reliable.
Considerations: While the beads aren’t visible once styled, they can peek through if your hair is very fine and pulled tightly back. Maintenance is typically every 8–12 weeks.
Bottom line: Classic Beaded Row offers a well-established method with natural movement—best for maintaining over longer cycles.
Express Beaded Row
Faster install, more frequent refresh.
The express method is a streamlined variation of the classic technique—perfect if you’re already visiting us every 6–8 weeks for color, toner, or other services. It gives you the same secure bead-and-sew attachment in less time.
Best for: Clients on a regular salon schedule who want a quick refresh.
Why you’ll love it: Shorter application time, easy to coordinate with your color appointment.
Considerations: Maintenance is more frequent—usually every 6–8 weeks.
Bottom line: Express Beaded Row caters to practical routines, especially for clients already visiting regularly for other services.
Common Questions About Our Hair Extensions
Will hair extensions work on short hair?
«Yes. As long as your natural hair is at least 3-4 inches long, we can blend extensions seamlessly. Depending on your current layers and density, we may recommend one method over another (such as K-Tips for very short styles) to ensure the attachments remain invisible. We can determine the perfect plan during your free consultation.
Do you offer NBR extensions?
«Clarification: We offer the Method, not the Brand. "NBR" (Natural Beaded Rows) is both a specific brand of hair and an installation technique. At Monaco Salon, we utilize the Natural Beaded Row method to install our premium Genius Wefts because it offers superior comfort and blending. However, we do not sell the NBR brand of hair. We prefer to source from luxury suppliers like Great Lengths and HairDreams.
Learn about the differences between natural beaded row extensions and Monaco wefts.
Will the extensions match my exact hair color?
«Absolutely. We rarely take a single color out of a box and apply it. We order the closest premium match and then custom-blend, highlight, or root-shadow the extensions to ensure they mimic the dimension and tone of your natural hair perfectly.

Can you re-install hair extensions that have been worn already?
«Whether or not we can re-install hair will depend on a few factors, as our priority is always to protect the integrity of your hair and provide you with a high quality service. Generally speaking, we can re-install hair from any company as long as it is in good condition, 100% human hair, and appropriate for the methods we use.
Here are some difference scenarios to clarify our policy on reinstalling hair.
If your hair was installed at Monaco Salon and we're doing a maintenance appointment on your hand-tied wefts, or hair topper, YES we reuse and re-install the hair as often as we can over the life expectancy of the hair. We will let you know when your hair is getting close to the point where it needs to be replaced.
Suppose you took a break from your extensions and you want to bring us hair purchased at Monaco Salon, and within one of our installation methods, YES we can reinstall the hair provided that it is still in good shape.
What if you come to us for maintenance or move up for extensions that were purchased and installed somewhere else, will we reinstall the hair? If the hair is within one of our installation methods and within one of the specific brands we work with (Great Lengths, Bellami, Hair Dreams etc) YES we can reinstall the hair provided that it is still in good shape.
Will we install hair you purchased elsewhere and have worn, and it is within one of our installation methods and within one of the specific brands we work with (Great Lengths, Bellami, and Hair dreams), YES we can reinstall the hair provided that it is still in good shape
Will we re-install keratin bond extensions? NO, once removed, keratin bond hair cannot be reapplied, regardless of where you purchased them or which brand they are. Keratin bond extensions are a one time use item and can not be reinstalled once removed.
Can you re-install hair extensions I already own (or purchased elsewhere)?
«Generally, Yes. Our priority is maintaining the integrity of your hair. We can re-install hair extensions—even if purchased at another salon—provided they meet three criteria:
- They are 100% Human Hair.
- They are in excellent condition.
- They are compatible with our methods and brands (specifically Great Lengths, Bellami, HairDreams, and Zora Hair).
Important Policy on Keratin Bonds: No. Once removed, Keratin Bond extensions cannot be re-applied. They are a single-use luxury method. This applies regardless of where they were purchased.
Can you custom-color hair extensions that I purchased somewhere else?
«No. While we are happy to install outside hair that meets our quality standards, we will not color, dye, or lighten any extensions not purchased directly through Monaco Salon.
Here is why we strictly enforce this policy:
- Unknown Quality: Not all hair labeled "100% Human" is true to grade. Lower-quality hair can melt or break when exposed to professional color.
- Unknown Chemical History: We cannot know if the hair was previously bleached or coated with silicone. Even small chemical differences can cause the hair to turn unexpected colors (like pink or green) during processing.
- Protecting Your Investment: Coloring extensions is high-risk. By only coloring hair we supply, we guarantee the results and protect you from ruining expensive hair.
Note: If you have extensions installed at Monaco Salon, they must only be altered by our stylists. If another salon cuts or colors them, your Monaco warranty is voided.
How do I care for my extensions at home?
«Home care is simple once you know the basics. The most important rules are to brush gently from ends to root, use sulfate-free professional products (like the ones in your Gift Set), and never sleep with wet hair. We will provide you with a full guide during your appointment.
Which hair stylists work with k-tip extensions?
«Krista, Damaris, Billy, Virginia, Meg, and Christine offer K-Tip extensions.
Which hair stylists offer hand-tied extensions?
«All of our artists are trained in Krista Abad’s hand-tied extension method.
How much do hair extensions cost at Monaco?
«Pricing is fully customized based on the look you want to achieve. Costs can range from a few hundred dollars for volume-only fills to over $1,000 for full-lengthening transformations. Factors include the brand chosen, the method (Weft vs. K-Tip), and the amount of hair required. Because every guest is unique, we provide an exact, transparent quote during your Free Consultation.
